Southern suburbs with excellent local nightlife. Less touristy, more authentic, and generally safe. Great for someone who wants to experience Colombian nightlife culture without the Parque Lleras scene.
What to Watch For
The Drink Spike
Scopolamine and other drugs slipped into drinks are the #1 risk. The method: someone offers you a drink, spikes a drink while you're distracted, or (in rare cases) uses a powder. Never accept drinks from strangers. Never leave your drink unattended. Order bottles when possible.
The "Too Good to Be True" Date
If someone significantly more attractive than your usual match is aggressively pursuing you in a bar or on an app, be cautious. This is a common setup for robbery — the date leads you somewhere private where accomplices are waiting.
The Motorbike Snatch
Walking between venues at night? Keep your phone in your pocket, not in your hand. Motorbike snatches happen in even the safest neighborhoods. Walk on the building side of the sidewalk, not the curb side.
